The only democracy in the Middle East (TM) (via Reddit)

A Palestinian man has been convicted of rape after having consensual sex with an Israeli woman who believed he was Jewish because he introduced himself as "Daniel".

That's as far as democracy is currently possible in the Middle East. In a similar situation in neighboring countries, a Jewish man would likely got killed.

Yes, I think it is one of the well know indications of democracy:

"If she hadn't thought the accused was a Jewish bachelor interested in a serious romantic relationship, she would not have co-operated,"

:-) make me smile wide. :-)

I think a woman in arabic country will be stoned, if some man just accuse her in having "romantic" relationship, no?

In so called democracy reverse is usually true, minus stones :-)

So, yes, Israel does look like democracy to me and it is probably the only one in Middle East :-)

So, let's agree that if woman have "rights" (may be even excessive when it is about sex and family belonging) it is probably democracy of CA :-)
