SSL certs @ GoDaddy are ~$13 a year...

...up to 10 years.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a real cert for my server at home... And VPN to my home network now works from Windows 7. Yay!

  1. No way to import a root cert created by your own into WIN7?

  2. "No way" is a strong word. But I did try and I failed. It is still a possibility that I have not put it in the right cert store.

  4. I see. Sorry for my bad English, lol.
I did that on Win Server 2k3 before and succeeded.
And I guess you'll need to add the root cert on both server and client.

  5. Yes, I didn't even have to do it before win7. I run SBS 2003 at home, and even my Server 2008 laptop used to connect just fine. But not Win7. I have no idea what was wrong with it, it kept complaining that the cert is not trusted...
