JAL CEO cuts his salary to below that of his pilots.

I'd like to see Wagoner, Nardelli, and their ilk do the same before they get a dime of the bailout money...

If we fall on hard times, yes.

My compensation as a manager though is no different from compensation of any IC (dev, tester, or PM) at my level, neither there are any special perks...

But I do think that the better way to enforce reasonable alignment of private and public incentives is not though the regulation that would prohibit companies from paying what they want to pay.

Instead, I think it is far more reasonable to (1) pass legislation that ensures true independence of governance (boards should be formed from large shareholders, not just approved by shareholders), and (2) repeal Reagan tax cuts.
